A STORY THAT IMPACTS
On a midday in 1997, two of the current volunteers of the FUNDACION FIAMBRE were working on a training program for mothers in the ‘La Capilla’ neighborhood, they saw a little boy who was barely able to look at them through a bedroom window. Seeing his curious eyes, they asked him if he had already had lunch and the boy replied:
“No ladies, I do not have to eat lunch this week”
The communities soup kitchen started as a response to an urgent need to feed the children of the Barrio La Capilla, Altos de Cazucá. This neighborhood is located in an area known as “STRING OF MISERY”, south of Bogotá, and due to its location, its population is not covered by the capital’s social programs.
WHAT DO WE DO
The Fundación Fiambre seeks to improve the living conditions of low-income boys, girls, youth and older adults through a balanced and nutritious diet in order to benefit their physical and mental development within an environment of solidarity and cordiality.
